On the Guardians and Hermeneutics

This may be a useless and irrelevant question, but I wondered as I read, so I'll ask…

Does this mean that a Deity like Thoth might be thought of in that "guardian" function as well, since (I'd surmise) exegesis is something with which Thoth is deeply involved, for that tradition?

Thoth's "separating" (wp) function seems to suggest this sort of role, but it would be a narrow slice of his total field of action. The whole structure of whatever we might consider the intellective plane in Egyptian theology is very different, of course. The Distant Goddess myth is important here, and Thoth is involved in that, too, of course.
