Feb. 12th, 2010 10:52 amI thought I'd offer a progress report for people on my FL who aren't on Facebook.
First, I had confirmation that "Plato's Gods and the Way of Ideas" will finally be appearing in Diotima 39 (2011), which ought to come out at the end of this year.
Also, "The Second Intelligible Triad and the Intelligible-Intellective Gods" has been accepted for Méthexis 23 (2010).
Finally, "Henology and Holism in Plato" has a shot at appearing in Plato, the internet journal of the International Plato Society if I can satisfy editor and referee regarding certain "strong reservations" they have about certain "conceptual ambiguities". This is well short of an acceptance, but better than a rejection; I have until June to fix it and resubmit. I'm not going to do anything about this, of course, until after I get back from the lecture at Dalhousie. As for that, I've finished the paper I'll be giving, "The Henadic Structure of Providence in Proclus".
Right now I'm (supposed to be) working on a 1,500 word review of One and Many in Aristotle's Metaphysics: Books Alpha-Delta, by Edward C. Halper, which I will be recommending highly. I think that this book, its companion on the middle books, and the forthcoming third in the series, will be the companions to the Metaphysics in the years to come.
Some here will also wish to be reassured that I have not forgotten about my essay for the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Zeus devotional, which I had a start on before the end of the year and the completion of which will be the first order of business after Dalhousie.
