(1) The new Doctor Who. It's back, better written and faster moving. Goes to show what having a fan at the helm—Russell T. Davies, creator of the original British Queer as Folk—can do to revive a franchise gone cold. (The picture is actually of the first Doctor, William Hartnell.)

(2) Full House. No, silly, not the sitcom, the Korean soap opera starring pop idol Rain and the elfin Song Hye-kyo. After Winter Sonata it seemed like I just couldn't get by without a Korean soap opera in my life. At first I was drawn to Stairway to Heaven, due to the presence of Choi Ji-Woo, who played Yujin in Winter Sonata, but tore myself away when I learned how mercilessly depressing it was going to be. Now I'm really enjoying the light-hearted fun of Full House. Here's a picture of Rain and Song Hye-kyo together--aren't they a cute couple? (Check out the crowd of onlookers just outside the shot!)

(3) The Warner Brothers detectives continue to deliver: 77 Sunset Strip, Surfside 6, Hawaiian Eye, Bourbon Street Beat.
