IMG_0314 copy.JPG This is the bunny at the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia. They claimed there would be a butterfly room, which I wanted to see, but it wasn't there. BUT I also read that this bunny was there, ostensibly for petting. The museum is PACKED with taxidermy. Ick. I learned that zebras are shorter than I expected - like Howard Dean, who has a remarkable handshake. The best handshake - really a manshake - that I have ever experienced (in line for a book signing, after scream). The bunny is not stuffed, but was not available for petting either. But here it is.

After I read my paper on Monday, a couple of Taoists came up to talk to me. Not Chinese Taoists; a couple of guys from Massachusetts. They were enthusiastic about applying Neoplatonic ideas to Taoist thought until I scribbled this diagram on a pad. It shows Being as a unity with the many Gods above it and the many beings below it. Then the one guy looked disappointed and said that would make an application to Taoism "more difficult". And everyone felt awkward.
